It’s Official with Today’s Announcement

I am honored and proud to announce that today, I was officially confirmed as the 2021 Presidential Award of Excellence in Math & Science Teaching for the state of South Carolina. It’s been a long 4 years waiting to hear the name of awardees from the finalists names in May 2021. It is surreal to see my name on the White House press release. I am humbled to be among 100s of amazing educators and join the PAEMST alumni family. Cheers to all the other Awardees announced today.

I also want to express my admiration and the amazing talents of the 200+ finalists from my finalist cohort and the 2022 and 2023 finalists. ALL of you are amazing. ALL of you are winners! I know it was heartbreak today to receive an email saying you weren’t the award. EACH of YOU are incredibly talented stars in education. Being recognized as a finalist for your state is an ELITE honor!!! You are Silver Medal Olympians in my book.
